Stories With The Moon

0-2.jpg

1. TONIGHT

feelings I have felt in the dark by myself

I feel alright tonight

have you seen the moon in full bloom

she’s shining bright tonight

If you close, you’ll see spirits in the wind

made of light tonight tonight

I know a place where we can go to watch the stars

It feels like home no matter where you are

dreams and schemes and dark things and pale moonlight tonight

stories never told scenes never seen new and old

coming out tonight tonight tonight

2. GRACE

Regret, she called your name

And fear it tried to tame

Your wild heart, growing like a garden in the summer after the rain

And pain, she knew your name

Doubt, it called you out into the morning, into the light,

harsh and bright after the night

Oh, you moon come out. Oh, you stars, shine, show me the way.

Hate, oh what a shame. And guilt, defamed your name

A brilliant mind, a lovely face. How we fall so far from grace.

Oh, you moon come out. Oh, you stars, shine, shine.

Oh, you moon come out. Oh, you stars shine. Oh, you moon come out.

Oh, you stars shine. Show me the way. Show me the way. Show me the way.

3. SKELETON WOMAN

When I’m drifting like a dream, lost in the desert or at sea

And I’m feeling wild and free, but the devil’s clawing after me, at my feet

Don’t give in to the weight of the mind

Don’t you know what you seek you will find

And it’s seeking you, too

When the light breaks in the morning. And the sun he casts away the moon.

And your heart’s served on a platter, but it doesn’t really matter to them like it matters to you.

Don’t give in to the weight of your mind

Don’t you know what you seek you shall find

And it’s seeking you, too.

Don’t give in to the weight of the mind

Bones bleached in the sun at the bottom of the ocean

Bones bleached in the sun, skeleton woman at the bottom of the ocean

4. I FEEL YOU

You wanna stay out all night, you won’t come home til the morning light

I feel you, I feel you, I feel you...

Take me out tonight, lay me down beneath the starlight

I feel you

And if love is game then you win

I can only go sane again

And if love is a game then you win

Chase me around again, be my lover won’t you be my friend

I feel you...

Hate me or hold me tight, leave me here or love me right

I feel you, I feel you, I feel you, I feel you. I feel you, is it real though? I feel you, I feel you.

And if love is a game, then you win

I can only go sane again

And if love is a game then you win, I can only go sane again

And if love is game then you win

5. SET US FREE

I know we say and do some things our hearts don’t want us to

And I know the color of your eyes changes from green to blue. Like your mood, volatile as the sea

But still, darlin your love it sets me free

Maybe I can learn to let it flow, and witness the time

Passing like a melody, the wind on a chime

Oh, this life, volatile as the sea,

But love, darlin love will set us free

Free

The sun and moon, they play their part

Take me out of myself, put me back in my heart

Oh this life, volatile as the sea, but still, darlin your love it sets me free

But love, darlin love will set us free free free free

Free set us free set us free

Oh this life, volatile as the sea, but love, darlin love will set us free

7. THE REST

Life feels like a show

Death a carnival

Hear the sirens go, see the lights flashing when we fall

Lines across your face, from your joy and your mistakes

Your breath a chilly wind that blows, oh the empty spaces when it goes

We all live with death

We all live with death

We all meet in death

Make up a beautiful story about the rest

Lord knows I cried

On the day you died

Ghostly mist across the land

Reaching out for a lifeless hand

We all live with death

We all live with death

We all meet in death

Make up a beautiful story about the rest

Make up a beautiful story about the rest

Make up a beautiful story about the rest

8. SKYLARK

I’ve been tired of hearing my own song

I’ve been weary of carrying my baggage along

I won’t tell you what I’ve been seeing in the dark
I will sing to you like a skylark

Colorado with your canyons carved out

Like lines on my face when I’m feeling burnt out and

I won’t show you what I’ve been finding in the dark

I will just bring to you my aching heart

I won’t tell you what I’ve been seeing in the dark
I will sing to you like a skylark

I see right through the darkness in me and in you

I won’t tell you what I’ve been finding in the dark

I will just give to you my bleeding heart

I won’t tell you what I’ve been finding in the dark

I will just sing to you like a skylark

I won’t tell you what I’ve been seeing in the dark

I will just sing to you like a skylark

9. WAYS OF THE LAND

A girl on a train with a rose

Watching the station as it goes on by with a new moon in the sky

Where the land meets the sea

She feels alone in the day

She feels alone in the night so cold and she’s growing old

But she will return again

She says “I love the stars and the moon.

I love the light in the afternoon" and the songbird croons,

"We will begin again”

We grow so weary as we age

We forget what matters is today and the only way

To live is to love

We were once children of the land

Now I’m a woman and you are a man

And we don’t understand

The ways of the land

We will understand the ways of the land…

11. LOVE WILL WIN

Dark is the night, bright is the day

What’s gonna happen?

I cannot say

Soft as the twilight, strong as the dawn

Change is coming, before too long

Chorus:

Like a flower in the morning, reaching out to the sky

Lean in to the sunlight, open wide

Blood bone and spirt, dark matter and light

The face of the pale moon in a dark velvet night

Take of the mask, peel back the skin

It’s gonna happen, love will win

Chorus

I will stand by you til all the pain is through

Will you stand by me til everyone is free?

Chorus

10. WHITE NOISE

Some nights my thoughts won’t be still

I think until my mind breaks and I can’t will

Myself to sleep

The hardest thing for my body is lying still

I toss and turn til the dawn breaks I always have

And always will

Oh, Claude, you’re coming up on the radio

Won’t you play me something soft, oh something sweet

Play me to sleep

My eyes adjust to the dark and I can see

The sandman is not here and it seems

He’s forgotten me

Oh, Claude, your’re coming up on the radio

Won’t you move your fingers over black and white keys

And drown out the outside world

Turn it all to background sound

Drown out the outside world

Turn it all to quiet white noise

Claude, you’re coming up on the radio

Won’t you move your fingers over black and white keys?

Oh, Claude, you’re coming up on the radio

Won’t you play me something soft oh something sweet

Play me to sleep

And drown out the outside world

Turn it all to background sound

Drown out the outside world

Turn it all to quiet white noise

Quiet white noise ladadadada
